My dolls are all handmade originals, with one basic pattern being used and then customized to give a different look but at the same time, keeping to the same style.
A lot of my dolls are healing dolls with healing crystals both inside and stitched onto the dolls.
Being a Reiki Healer, I give my dolls the “Reiki Symbols” as I am making them and it is most important to make the dolls when in a calm and spiritual state of mind. This is reflected in the dolls and can be passed on to the new owner.
I have found, over the years that dolls have a place in our lives, as a child or an adult. They can be an expression of love, spirit and creativity. They can amuse, inspire, be a teaching tool and even promote healing.
Dolls have been around for many centuries. There were dolls in the ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman civilizations. It is thought that the first dolls were invented by children themselves and those were made of natural things such as sticks and stones. But the main thing is that dolls were not only just playthings but for some people dolls had a far deeper meaning.
Dolls will also be around for many centuries to come and will forever hold a special place in our hearts. My healing dolls are made with love and affection.
All my dolls are made from either recycled fabrics which I buy from various charity shops or scraps of fabric that are layered and machined into, to make an original piece of fabric. All the buttons and beads have been collected over the years from discarded garments and broken necklaces.
I also make beads from parsnips, carrots, seeds, fimo and rolled felt to add a unique twist to my dolls.
